To provide leadership, direction and coordination to safely and efficiently execute the planned work in the time frame scheduled to allow for safe and cost effective maintenance of mining assets.Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Directly supervise the safe execution of work performed by maintenance craftsmen through utilizing the Supervisor Standard Work.
  • Appropriately allocate resources and brief daily work to your crew from the daily/weekly planned schedule, and break-in work list if required.
  • Responsible for the quality execution of this work and to report and recommend solutions to deviations from the plan when work can/or does not meet plan.
  • Provide coaching, leadership and direction for the department personnel.
  • Promote and encourage teamwork and high performance standards throughout the section and oversee the disciplinary action process when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the department.
  • Work closely with Mining Operations Supervisors to ensure their equipment needs are met.
  • Be informed on the status of all mining equipment and systems every day.
  • Ensure that detailed plans are executed following the workflow Gantt chart, and using GRIP.
  • Follow the weekly and 24 hour schedule; send out a detailed shift report each day to mark progression of work, and to keep our jobs updated.
  • Update the dispatch system as we repair & release equipment, enter the W/O number on break in work.
  • Visit each job site often, assist in set up of equipment for PM’s and general repairs.
  • Hand outwork ordersfor every job, and get progress up dates to the supervisor who relieves you. Close out completed work orders, with completion comments.
  • Open line of communication with the planners and the scheduler, right work at the right time.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance or similar environment.
  • Supervisory experience or previous experience in a similar role.
