Description


The primary function of this position is to operate multiple pieces of large mining equipment associated with the production of taconite pellets in a self-directed work environment including, but not limited to end-dump trucks, front-end loaders, dozers and graders, and/or to perform monitoring, cleaning, sampling and maintenance tasks associated with the operation of plant equipment.

Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Excellent safety record and genuine concern for safety in the workplace.
  • Solid work/school attendance.
  • Recent heavy equipment operating and/or industrial experience is required.
  • Must be flexible with work assignments; will assist other departments as needed and required.
  • Must have an exceptional work ethic, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a self-directed team environment.
  • Must also be willing to work rotating shift schedules with varying days off.

Education:

2 year degree in Operating Heavy Equipment, Industrial Technology/Maintenance or related fields, or equivalent training through a certified apprenticeship program.

Experience:

Prefer 2 years experience in related fields - mining, construction, equipment operator, craft/trade certification, military and/or manufacturing.
